Hello!
Junko Nagayama
How are you doing? Four years have passed since I participated in this program. The members who were that time high school third year student graduate from the university this year. I remembered that time. How are you everybody? In my case、 I will be an university second year student in April. We become busy individually and we don’t have the opportunity to meet each other. Someday I would like to see my friends.

What a pleasure it is to read through the many notes form students who have been a part of this special program. I retired from my position with Manitoba Agriculture last year and returned to Russell. I have opened our home into a Bed and Breakfast Guest house so I very much enjoy visiting with many people from Canada、 USA and other parts of the world. Last year I had a number of students from Japan stayed here when they came to ski. Last summer I found a host family for a student from Japan who wanted to work in our area. This winter、 I have had students from Japan、 Mexico and Brazil as part of our guest list
A couple of weeks ago、 I had the pleasure of helping to select the students from Manitoba who will go to Fukushima Prefecture this summer. I know they wll have a wonderful time.
For those of you who know my family、 I provide the following update. Alision works for the Government of Canada in Ottawa and works to try to rid the world of landmines. Jason works in Winnipeg for a construction firm、 Andrea is in her third year at Royal Military Colege in Kingston and Erin is working for a year in Germany as an AU paire looking after an 11 year old girl and learning German
I wish you all well. Best wishes for those of you who are studying and I know those of you who are working will be benefitting from the opportunity to travel with a group of friends to USA/Canada. I hope you will have a chance to come back some day.I would be pleased to see you again.

Hello. I am a student of the 1998 exchange program. I was able to find this HP by chance it is in quite a lot surprise and excitement now. When I attended the welcome party last year、 I had joyful time with everybody. I couldn’t say thank you very much that time、 now I could find this HP and say thank you very much! Same as this program member、 this program gave me a big influence in my life. Now、 I think that I had wonderful experiences in this program in the summer of 4 years ago and was possible、 even to have come to seem that I want to learn more、 although I am learning English philology. Recently it is difficult to talk the same program members、 but I would like to see them. I will try to write this message board again.

Hi everyone! My daughter just purchased a computer so I'm trying it out tonight. Nice to see I found your site. Wondering how everyone is. I missed not having exchange students in Manitoba this summer. Hope the program continues in the future. Sending a hello to my host family. Margaret is now married and has a baby girl. Her husband is from New Zealand; she met him on her last exchange. Waiting to hear from everyone!

It has been a long time. I remember that time when I am seeing this HP. The influence of this exchange program is big for me. I think it is probably useful someday and even now I am studying English. I translated the English with the job and also did the interpretation. Thank you very much everybody、 and the 6th exchange program students.

Hello Everyone
Dean Highmoor
I was one of the Manitoba 4-H students who hosted a Japanese exchange student in 1997、 and was part of a trip to Japan in 1999. I'll never forget Japan. It was very different and very far away from where I am from. However、 as I grow older I realize that this world is becoming smaller every day.
I have graduated from university and accepted a position as a commercial banker with one of the major chartered banks. I also pray that Japan's economy can rebound from the troubles that it currently faces. I know the Japanese are a resilient and hard-working bunch; it shouldn't be long until circumstances improve.
A big thank-you goes out to the York-Benimaru Foundation for allowing me to travel half-way around the world. You allowed me to take an adventure I'll never forget.
Cheers!

I am a student of the 1998 exchange program. I remember that I was in Canada 4 years ago. It was unforgettable summer for me、 so I tried to see this home page. I regret that this year’s program can not be done. In that time、 we were 2nd or 3rd grade in high school、 now we 21、 22 years old、 so we don’t have a chance to meet. Sometime I recall how they are doing. I hope I am able to see them again.
